WinLock

In case you have children in your house, you may want to restrict them from accessing certain webpages or certain computer applications which can be harmful for them. In this situation, you will need to install a specialized application which can limit computer usage. You can use WinLock in this situation. This Windows program allows you to set up various restrictions for your computer and limit its usage down to the smallest detail possible.

Installing the application is no problem, as the installation wizard can be completed easily, just by following the on-screen instructions. After the program has been installed and launched, you are presented with a complex interface, in which you can quickly access all the program's features and options. The first step is to set up a password which will protect the program's settings and will prevent them from being changed by unauthorized people.

Next, you should configure the program to automatically run at system startup, so that you can be sure that your computer usage is restricted at all times. The System tab displayed in the program's interface allows you to limit access to certain Windows tools and applications, like the registry editor, Windows Update, mouse and keyboard, hard disk partitions and so on.

By accessing the Internet tab, you can easily configure trusted and restricted websites. Thus, you will be sure that your children cannot access certain dangerous or malicious websites, no matter what web browser they are using. What's more, you can configure WinLock to automatically redirect to a specific website in case a restricted one is accessed.

From the Access tab, the user can configure certain Windows executables or applications to be impossible to access. Furthermore, certain files or folders can be locked and can be hidden, preventing other people from having access to them.
